HAMANN AM Vantage

8 September 2008 No Comment

With HAMANN releasing their new kit for the X6, they also showed off their new tuning parts for the Aston Martin Vantage.

They have two different configuration when it comes to aero parts. The more aggressive kit comes with a full replacement front bumper with additional pre-spoiler. A new sideskrits with two winglets reminiscent of their style that goes back to the M Roadster back in 2000. The factory rear bumper is stock but had new pieces added on to it. If these are too wild for your taste, then there is very mild config which I prefer. For this configuration, Hamann offers a front lip add-on that retains your factory front bumper. Very small and hardly noticeable. No sideskirts addition and the rear only gets the upper diffuser.

WILD Configuration

My Thoughts
I do not like the Wild configuration at all. The only good that I see in it is that the car looks like Hamann built it. It has all their signature aero designs but it doesn’t look good to me. The rear bumper looks over done with pieces on top of another piece, just too much. The sideskirts design is getting too old. They need to come up with a newer designs if they want to retain that winglet style. I ran full Hamann on both of my cars E36 and the MRoadster and they looked fine then since it was new but to see the design still being fitted in these newer cars are getting boring. The front bumper is too busy. The front bumper actually looks better without the pre-spoiler and no sideskirts additions as seen in this picture.

I like the MILD better as it keeps the car clean, with just few minor additions. Check out the pics below.

MILD Configuration

As for now, AM customers really only have two choices if they want to do something different with their exterior, go with Hamann or Mansory. Personally, between the two, I would go with the latter.
