Apple Care

6 July 2009 3 Comments

Sorry for the lack of updates.

My iMac’s internal hard drive suffered a fatal mechanical failure last week. Thank goodness for Apple Care (extended warranty), I was able to bring the iMac to Apple for the HD replacement without having to pay for anything. Even though this is the first and only time I’ve ever used it, I recommend it to anyone.

Typical Apple warranty is only a year but Apple Care gives you 3 years of coverage. I still had one more year left on mine so got the iMac back today, fired up Time Machine and restored everything!

It’s been a while since I went without my computer but I actually got a lot of work done and even slept earlier LOL.

Dude your so right, Apple Care is a need not a want. Three hard drive’s, one power cable, one power supply, and one new screen later my MacBook keeps on ticking. A note Apple sucks when it comes to Hard drives and they are know to fail. I hope you didn’t loose any important data Jon.

Fortunately no data loss. The Time Machine did its thing. Took about 2 hours to restore everything. A short time relative to me having to rebuilt my directories and transferring files.
