Civic Duty

The Honda Civic Type-R FD2 was not made available here in the states. So all we can do is just mine the net to see what the Japanese tuners have done with this model.

One tuner that got their hands on this 4-dr. is Seeker- a Honda Tuner based in Tokyo . They made a name for themselves when they showed off their Honda Civic EG6 back in ’06 and followed that up with their very popular AP1 aka S2000 Seeker demo car. They’ve done other models also but it’s always been the Honda brand that they chose to tune. So the FD2 Civic is just a logical choice to be the next car to be treated with all the Seeker goods.

Here are some pictures of their Demo car sporting their signature orange paint job:

They have a great selection of parts from exterior upgrades such as front lip spoilers, front grill replacements, hood, roof, door handle covers, trunk, tail light covers and rear spoiler all made in carbon fiber. Although I prefer my CF weave to be a 2×2 twill, the 1×1 twill that Seeker used is fine. The fitment of the parts seems to be good which is what is the most important thing anyway. Seeker also offers performance upgrades like pulleys and full exhaust systems, race dampers fully adjustables as well as GT2 race bucket seats etc.

Here are the gallery detailing the parts.

As I was looking at this picture below, I noticed something very interesting…

If you look closely in the driver side (right hand drive) window, there seem to be some air vent type part held in place by the window itself. I went through their website but no info was available. But Seeker’s motto is “Seek and you shall find” so I went and seek for more pics and found couple of close up pictures so we can check it out further.

Not sure exactly what I’m looking at here but looks to be an air inlet/outlet to help the driver get some fresh air inside the cabin to keep air temps manageable. A lot of racecars actually do this by using a NACA duct to let some fresh air in as it does get pretty hot inside especially with no heat insulation and under all that racing gear. So that’s just my guess. Looks cool though, very different, and very JDM!

Anyway, this post is dedicated to JDMEGO himself – Jay whose currently sucking and discharging phlegm. Hope you feel better soon buddy. I thought that a few more JDM Honda Civic pics might keep things tingling for ya.
