They’re baaack. Well the BMW Team Rahal/Letterman GT2 M3 is back from France for the annual 24hr of Le Mans. They will be racing this weekend in Lime Rock Park in the 5th leg of the American Le Mans. I’ll have my DVR recording the race while I run some errands. It’ll be good to see them in action again.

But have you ever wondered how BMW got into racing in the first place? Well wonder no more. Here’s a great video to learn about the history of BMW Motorsport. Although not the most thorough since it’s just a promo video, it still encompasses different BMW racecars like the early 3.0CSL “Batmobile”, M1 ProCars, E30 M3 touring cars, PTG E36 and E46 GTRs, to the current Rahal/Letterman ALMS GT2 M3 which are always cool to watch. The video also talks about how the technologies in these racecars were transferred down to the production cars. If you love BMW, this is a must watch flick! But if you’re not , just watch it and “get learned” LOL.
