Blame it on RWB. Ever since I saw pics of their cars couple of years ago, I started a collection of hard core 911 Porsches images. I sometime use them as reference for some of my automotive renderings – their flared out fenders are very helpful in body kit designs. I’ve already posted and shared some from my stash here in the blog but still have a few more. I got a mixture of 930, 964, 993, 996 and 997 all widebodies of course. I’m not sure which model I like the best yet. So far my collection of images is dominated by the 930 and the 964. The 964 is the successor to the 930 with them sharing the same engine in its initial release back in the early 90s. But later on the 964 received a turbocharged version of the 3.6 litre M64 engine improving upon the 3.3 930 engine.

A well modded 964, as old as it is, can hold its own against its more current siblings. Here are some pictures of a well set up 964.



With the widebody conversion, the “shoulder” and the “hips” of the car are enhanced.


And with anything, a properly matched wheels is paramount. A set of silver WORK Meister S1 in 3-pc. config. is exactly what the doctor ordered.


The classic Porsche silhouette never gets old.


The owner of this 964 extended the wing to further improve downforce and be able to set up the pitch to his liking.

What a view from this angle. The wing as aggressive as it is, looks great and flows well with the extra width the car gained.

    I presume you’ve mis-spelled that. I was gonna get a carbon ER too, but they proved to expensive
