ALMS in Mid Ohio

9 August 2009 3 Comments

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday. I thought I was just gonna kick back today but end up in my drawing table trying to catch up with my comic book work. It was a nice day though with the breeze blowing right through my window keeping me cool as I finished my pages for Superman- Secret Origin #2.

I typically like to work with either a music on or some show in the TV to keep me sane. I turned on my DVR to watch the 6th running of ALMS held in mid Ohio today. A bit over couple of hours… perfect to keep me planted in my seat.

It was cool to see the Porsche RS Spyder making an appearance in this race. I love the shape and design of this racecar.

They finished 4th overall but during the race, they hit the #90 BMW in which they were penalized for an avoidable contact.

All eyes were in the Team Corvette as they joined in the competition in the GT2 class. They did well even getting 1st in the green challenge.

When the checkered flag dropped, it was the 911 RSR Flying Lizard piloted by Bergmeister/Long victorious once again. Man, these guys are strong.

Team Corvette finished 2nd and 4th in their debut race in the GT2 class, not bad at all.

The BMW M3 from Team Rahal/Letterman did alright.

The #92 edged out one of the Corvette in the last minute to take the final spot in the podium.

The #90 BMW continues to have bad luck in every race. If it’s not something with the car, its other cars hitting them.

Here is the final result:
