Breaking News
I caught the 6 o’clock news on ABC where they reported about a tragic murder. They found a girl’s body stuffed in a suitcase in Buena Park. When my wife and I first heard of this news yesterday on another network, they initially thought it was of a child because of how small and petite she was. The Buena Park police learned that this person worked as a part time model thus explaining her size.
For the full story, here is the link to the video of the news clip earlier today from ABC7.com.
For the 6 o’clock edition, they added images of the cars the suspect might possibly be driving.
Screen caps from the ABC 6 o’clock news..

A person of interest that they are currently looking for is this guy below who supposedly is in some VH1 reality show.

According to the news, he might be on his way to Canada driving either a BMW X5 or a 2007 Mercedes Benz CLS 550.

And this is the part of the news that caught my attention further. ABC news reported that the 2007 CLS 550 is white with black wheels and had a paper license plate from “Platinum Motorsports”. So my guess is that they scoured the internet for a white CLS 550 Benz with black wheels and found this picture.
Check it out..

Hmm wait, this car looks familiar LOL

Although the suspect car is white with black wheels and possibly built by Platinum Motorsport, this car they used for the story is NOT the actual car. For this heavily modified and pretty famous car actually belongs to RJ de Vera. Some of you might also recognize this shot used for this story which RJ took personally and was featured in Speedhunters.
I called up RJ to give him the 411. It was his first time hearing about it so he had no idea and we just both laughed about the mix up. We hope no one calls the cops on him when he’s driving around town in his CLS, haha.
So just to clear this whole thing up, RJ is NOT connected to the suspect in any way. Just so happens that the media used his ride for this story to illustrate how the car “can” look like.
Even TMZ posted a picture of his car too LOL. Check out the link HERE.
Ahh RJ, you and your cars are famous (and infamous? LOL j/k) man, what can I say haha.

Ahh… Integrity in journalism

I got confused for a bit, when you got to the part 1997 Mercedes Benz CLS550 I was like WTF? They never made the CLS in 1997. Anyway lets just hope RJ wont get arrested and be ingterogatted and then just release him because his car looks awesome.

hah yeah my bad on the 1997 typo. Now corrected.
Seems like RJ keeping the CLS garaged for the mean time sounds like a good idea. A lot of the local news network is running the news and his car is always part of it.

That is just crazy, isn’t there anything RJ can do about this. The news can’t just ‘steal’ a photo from the internet and use it like that.

I would seriously call up KABC L.A. and let them know that the use a pic of someone else’s vehicle IS NOT appreciated. Hopefully, the real perpetrator will be brought to justice and law enforcement willnot involve the real owner of the car pictured to do it.
