Green Racing

9 September 2009 2 Comments

The push for cleaner, more environmentally conscious cars are always in the headlines. To push this movement further, Honda participated in “Joy Resistance” – a 7-hour endurance race held in the Twin Ring Motegi track in Japan. It was a great test for these cars not just for their fuel efficiencies but for their durability as well.

Here are a trio of Honda Insights, different styles and set up but all mean green racing machines.

#16 M-TEC Works / Insight Challenger MUGEN driven by Naoki Yamamoto

Nothing that comes out of Mugen looks dull and this Insight is the best aesthetically and winning 1st place in their class.

#69 Challenging Insight

Looks stock from the outside but nonetheless won 2nd place spot in their class.

#176 Touring Modulo driven by Drift King himself Keiichi Tsuchiya.

The skills of Tsuchiya and company piloted this Insight good enough for a 3rd place win in their class.

Podium shot of the winners…

It was a pretty big step for Honda to be involve with this movement and I’m sure this is just the beginning. The only thing I’ll miss are those exhaust notes.
