KING KONG – widebody Exige

Lotus Exige is one of the sexiest sports car out there that has the looks of a super exotic but with a sticker price of decent euro family sedan. Lotus enthusiasts have tweaked this compact rocket to squeeze more power, go wider and plainly just to go buck wild with it.

Take for example this crazy looking, super widebody Lotus Exige labeled “KING KONG”. This beast is owned by Frank aka Ronin built by Specialty Car Craft, Inc based in Los Angeles, CA.

From the front shot, it’s hard to see how wide this thing is.

Here’s a better shot showing the width.

The car was heavily modified, and coated in “Grigo Medio” paint commonly found in the Ferrari 599. The Ferrari connection doesn’t stop there as the rear end taillight config is reminiscent of the new F458 Italia- or maybe that’s just me.

This car is not all show and no go. Here’s a peak at the goodies.

The engine puts down some serious power – over 500hp serious power on this lightweight chassis. This was attained by TWIN-CHARGING- yes, it has a Turbo and a Supercharger.

i was fortunate enough to run into this car last week on burbank blvd. i couldnt even muster up any words to say to the Frank. i just gave him a thumbs up and had a shit eating grin on my face. i had no idea it was twin charged. i heard the turbo and saw the ridiculous width on the rear and just knew it meant business. is there any contact info for him, id love to pick his brain about it.
