2nd Second time around

22 October 2009 4 Comments

Round 8 of the VLN Endurance racing series held in Nordschlefie is in the books. This is only the second time the BMW Motorsport team competed this year driven by Dirk Muller and Andy Priauix. Their debut race in round 7, they were able to test the car for its stability and speed which resulted in 4th place. You can read more about it in my previous post HERE.

Now that the ALMS series is done, it’s so good to see this BMW M3 GT2S representin’ and winning! As I have mentioned in my previous post, although this GT2S racecar is preety much the same as the ALMS GT2 car from Team Rahal/Letterman, I’m loving the livery and wheels on this car a bit more.

This time, the adjustments they made proved spot on as they finish in 2nd place sandwiched betwen a couple of 997 GT3s.

Congrats to BMW Motorsport for their win!

Three tiny details: Rims + Canards + New Livery make the already awesome GT2 E92 M3 soooo much better! :D

Also, when compared to the E46, the GT2 E92 with the widebody actually looks like a generational evolution, unlike the normal street car which is too “round”, making it not aggressive enough and like a completely unrelated car!

I’m assuming Manthey won the race.

Here’s to BMW getting further and further into this program. They better have the DTM 4 door ready by 2011.

Actually Mamerow Racing took it and the 3rd spot went to Hankook/H&R GT3. Manthey placed 6th.
