Blended Cappuccino

14 October 2009 5 Comments

Suzuki Cappuccino makes the current MINI cooper big. This small 2-door, 2-seater roadster was designed intentionally for the Japanese market.

Here’s how it looks bone stock.

So it just makes sense to see many modified cappuccinos in the streets and tracks all over Japan. Check out this row of widebody Cappuccinos ready to attack the track. Are those really TE37s?! Nice.

And it didn’t stop there, different conversions started popping out. NAT’S (Nihon Automotive College) took this model and “blended” an Acura NSX stylings which resulted in the MINI-SX. (correction – the base car was actually a Honda Beat not the Cappuccino).

But the more popular student project that came out of NATS is the GT-K. Ooh, that didn’t taste good at all.

Another ill-tasting conversion is this “Porchino” Cappuccino with a Porsche GT3 conversion. Not my kinda drink. Not sure if this is from the NATS fabricators but I’ll pass thanks.

But the “blended” cappuccinos aren’t confined to the creative students of NATS, tuning company also produced a body kit for this model to make it look like a Dodge Viper.

Another company – BabyCobra, even went as far as manufacturing a full body conversion to make it look like the Shelby Cobra. Kinda cool and cute actually – best cappuccino conversion I’ve seen yet.

The NSX copy is actually a Honda Beat, it has a mid engine just like the real deal. The little Viper is cool though, in a wrong kind of way. Check out the side exit exhaust which is just a blue painted chunk of plastic moulded to the skirt hehe.

Thanks for the info on the MINI SX. I just corrected the post.

Nice article! I hate that car so much, but some of those look barely passable. The Cobra looks pretty seamless, but the R35 and NSX look like kids toys!
