Debut race at Nordschleife
The German VLS series which stands for Veranstaltergeminschaft Langstrekenpokal Nurbürgring is an endurance race which happens in the famous Nordschlefie circuit. This series always brings out the best race cars and their recent race didn’t disappoint.
Over the weekend, the BMW E92 M3 GT2 prepared by Schnitzer Motorsport made it’s debut race. Although it shares some similiarities in its appearance with the ALMS GT2 M3 from Team Rahal/Letterman, this racecar is a whole different beast under a different set of restrictions and regulations.

The most obvious difference between the ALMS and this GT2 racecar is the livery. It has the BMW Motorsport livery sporting the white with blue and red graphics. You can see more of the other BMW racecar wearing this livery in my post HERE – BMW Motorsport Racecars.

Another difference are the set of track shoes. No RAYS VR G2 wheels here but instead, the BBS center lock race wheels are on duty as RAYS wheels aren’t involved in this series.

The BMW Team’s E92 M3 GT2 driven by Jorg Muller and Augusto Farfus finished 4th place in their debut. Here’s a quote from Friedhelm Nohl – director of sports and touring car technology at BMW translated through google:
We are pleased with the debut of our new car on the Nordschleife. One of the most important points was the factor of stability – and as we have shown that we are easily over the distance. It might work even in two weeks with a podium finish.

Enjoy the sound of music.
They’ll be racing one more time this month and for us americans, the Rahal/Letterman GT2 ALMS M3 will be racing in the final race this sunday at the Laguna Seca track.

I think for the first time in many years, Manthey Racing’s Porsche has something to fear if BMW Motorsport decides to run the M3 at the Rennin 24.
