LF-A Evolution

21 October 2009 5 Comments

The Lexus SuperCar is in the building. Unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show, the long awaited LF-A is here.

There have been many faces and phases LF-A went through to get to this point. I thought it would be interesting to write a post showing the LF-A “evolution”

The LF-A Concept car first show in 2005.

Then it was redesigned for 2007.

Then a year later, in 2008, we saw the LF-A Roadster.

In the same year, I gave it a go and created this TOP SECRET LF-A Nardo supercar based on the roadster image.

And then this year 2009, we saw a glimpse of the LF-A as an endurance racecar albeit with some camo.

And Oct. 2009, the official images are finally here:

Priced at $400,000, certainly not a price for an entry level supercar, if there even such a thing. The car is powered by a high revving 4.8liter V10 putting down 552bhp all naturally aspirated.

In my experience, all V10 engines produces a high pitch symphonic harmony of intake and exhaust valves dancing and the headers in acting like trumpets. Well this Lexus V10 does not disappoint. Enjoy the sound of music in this video courtesy of of FT-86.com. TURN UP YOUR VOLUME.

Great post Jon, amazing to see how far it has come.

The production car makes the original concept look very basic

Will we see an updated rendering from you on the production car?

    Thanks BP.

I’d love to do another rendering based on the official production version, I just wish I can find some free time.

I hope you get time to work your magic. I loved the Top Secret rendering, but I think this car would take an Amuse/Ericsson style really well.
