Super GT LF-A

11 January 2010 3 Comments

One of my DeviantArt buddy, Iain Chandler aka The-IC, emailed me these awesome set of 3d renderings of what might the Lexus LF-A look all dressed up in the Super GT attire.

This talented artist who hails from the land down under is not just a skilled 3D artist but actually follows and a fan of the Super GT series. So in creating these renderings, he used his knowledge of the series and applied it to the LF-A model which looked pretty spot on.

Check out the TOM’s Petronas livery applied to the Super GT LF-A.

Here are the latest versions of the rendering featuring various liveries.

It’s cool that these renderings were done in 3D. I only use photoshop on all my renderings which are all just 2D paintings but a 3D rendering gives the artist more control on the angle and perspective of the car making for an unlimited view you can shoot the car at.

Even the wireframes looks cool!

From the wireframe, Iain stared modelling the LF-A..

And here is the finished rendering of the production LF-A.

From this model, he added the body modifications per SuperGT specs.

Here are some of his previous Super GT LF-A rendering reflecting the earlier version of the headlights found on the LF-A concept car.

I do hope that these renderings by Iain do plant a seed to Toyota motorsport team. I imagined that if Lexus/Toyota would indeed enter the series, I can see them campaigning the LF-A in the GT500 class. I have something in the works that would accompany Iain’s GT500 LF-A in the GT300 class. I ‘ll post that soon so stay tuned.

Thanks Iain!!
