View from the rear
During the pinnacle of the E46, I’ve seen many example of very uniquely modified E46s from mild to wild. But there are also some of those “cookie-cutter” ones too. I’ve seen rows of them in Bimmerfest all having the ACS or Vorsteiner front lip dropped on HREs. Looks great for a few minutes until you see so many. I’m all for unique even though it’s hard to pull that off these days. One way of to keep it fresh is to add some hard to find parts along with some popular parts.
Like this BMW E46. I chose not show the front as it had the typical Vorsteiner front lip but the view from the rear is a bit more interesting to me.

I don’t care too much for the CSL trunk lid but my eyes goes directly to the wheels and the diffuser.

The stance on this E46 looks mean with much meat on the tires – old school style. Tire sizes though are 235/40 and 265/35 but the trick is its 18″ exposing more rubber. Nice shot of the Brembo 360 Modena 4 POT caliper clamping down on a 355mm rotor. Not show here is the front BBK with Brembo AMG 6 POT calipers and 380mm rotors.

I didn’t know this but the wheels are actually Panasport wheels! The exact model is G7 C5C-Kai. Some fancy and rare footwork right there. The size are 18×9 in the front and 18×10.5 in the rear

Now let’s talk about that cool carbon fiber diffuser. Varis makes some crazy stuff for Japanese cars but they also have a few select parts for BMWs. I don’t see enough of their parts other than from their website or catalog. So I was pretty stoke to find these pics of a BMW E46 sporting the Varis diffuser.

With the car nicely dropped, thanks to KW V3 Coilovers, adding the diffuser reduces ground clearance so it can be scary as these parts ain’t cheap.

And here is the money shot right here.

The Varis rear diffuser system 1 is one serious carbon fiber part. It starts from the tip of the rear differential fins all the way out to the edge of the rear bumper. It’s been wind tunnel tested making sure that the air exiting the car underneath is straight and clean for stability at high speed. Overkill for the streets but still look dang good.

Good Lord that sideview shot is hot! What a rare and well executed combo! Great write-up as always Jon
