Auto Gallery Yokohama R32

16 February 2010 2 Comments

During the HKS Premium Event held in Fuji Speedway, a tuner brought out couple of their big guns. One is an R34 and one is this R32, a widebody R32.

Auto Gallery Yokohoma (AGY) debuted their R32 with the wider fenders at the event.

AGY have been running their R32 for years now. This was how it looked before the widebody flares were added.

The wheels of choice for AYG at that time was the TE37- 18×9.5 all around.

They’ve tuned the engine to put down close to 600 hp from a boost pressure of 1.5kg / c ㎡, with the fuel pumped through a set of 1000cc injectors. To keep the head from blowing, the compression ratio was lowered down to 8.1 through a thicker 1.2mm head gasket bolted down by ARP fasteners.

The bottom end was built with new set of HKS goodies like H-section connecting rods, HKS Pistons, and HKS crank.

Those figures were back when they ran a Trust T88 turbine. But at the recent HKS Premium Day event, they upgraded it to the HKS T51R.

With any boosted set up, the fastest flowing and shortest exhaust, the better. To relieve all the pressure, AGY hacked saw their passenger side door to make provisions for the side-exist exhaust.

Thermal heat shield was built to isolate the hot piping from the fuel cell just about a foot away.

Exhaust gas traveling a very short distance through the wastegate pipe and downpipe both peaking through.

Fuel cell went in place of the passenger seat.

A quick release MOMO steering wheel was just a small detail part of the well configured race interior.

I have a few AGY parts on my GTR. Good stuff. That R32 is in my top 3 easily and that R34 just broke my top 5 as a fav R34. Beautiful.
Jon, when are you starting a JDM blog ? LOL!
