this hurts

Sorry for the lack of post. My work schedule have been madness and barely have time to do other things.

As busy as things are with me, I just had to take time and post this. When I was still active in the BMW scene, I’ve met Paul who hit me up wanting to buy some of my old parts from my E36. He turned out to be a real cool guy and really have much passion for his E36. I caught him at one of the Cars and Coffee meet here in Irvine one time when he brought out his E36 rolling on a set of sick BBS RS.

Here were the pics I took back in Dec. 2, 2006.

It was the first time I saw his ride in person with the new set of wheels. He still had vaders in there and had big plans for the engine.

Then later on, he continued to work on the car and gave it a complete repaint. One of my favorite color for the E36 – British Racing Green which is a factory color for the limited GT edition.

He got a hold of a set of GT2 seats for it to spruce up the interior a bit.

I posted this back in April 2008 here

This car was epic in my eyes. I dig how Paul hooked it up and kept in clean. He thought of selling it once but decided to keep it. I don’t blame him and I totally can relate.

But then this happened!!

A quote from Paul’s blog..

Yesterday a distracted driver barreled down my neighborhood and slammed into my parked car, consequently totaling it. I am fortunate that I was not in the car and no one was injured but I won’t lie to myself and say that I was not at loss for words. Goodbye to a project that I loved and enjoyed for the last four years…

Ahh, I can’t believe it. It hurt looking at this picture. I almost felt that my own E36 was the one who got hit.

Paul, keep it up my friend, I can’t wait to see what you build next. Hit me up when you can!

holy shit that’s terrible! i gotta say this is the cleanest E36 i’ve ever seen, it’s an incredible shame that this has happened. but like he said it’s a good job nobody was in the car when the accident happened, i’ve been at the receiving end of such a collision and it ain’t pretty.

hopefully insurance gives him something proportional to what he’s put into it, and not just the pittance they’d give a stock E36, which for most insurance companies would be far less than it’s worth anyway…

Wow…im utterly speechless. When i saw that pic i was hoping it was a photoshop. I can’t imagine how angry I would be if that happened to my car…considering how maddd I am that it happened to THat car itself!…was a piece of art to me!…plus while it was simply parked outside his house. I am curious if said driver had the balls to stop and own up to what they did or if it was a hit and run scenario. It really hurts to see such an epic build hurt like that but I hope that the owner paul can put his best foot forward and move on to another great build… best e36 EVARRR!… when it was for sale I tried to pinch alllll my pennies together to buy, couldn’t make it work. Sorry to see the sad news best of luck.

I know how it feels, I’m so sorry. Looked like a beautiful project car, I guess it only means that you have a blank canvas to work with.
