Spring Fest 2010
I spent the first day of Spring at the 5th annual Spring Festival of LX. Chrysler/Dodge supported the event that the crew of SoCalLX.com hosted to bring together the LX/LC platform cars like the 300C, Magnum, Charger and the Challengers. The event was held in Irvine, right across from Cars & Coffee weekly meet. Chrysler execs and MOPAR fans showed up from all across the country. I’ve met couple of them who drove from Wisconsin and one from Texas. Dodge also gave out posters, 1/24 scale Challenger cars and other goodies!
It was a great excuse to take my Chally out and take a break from designing body kits and inking.
At the event, Dodge announced that Sam Hubinette will be debuting a Dodge Challenger in the upcoming Formula Drift next month in the streets of Long Beach – same event as the Toyota Grand Prix. This will be a brand new Challenger, not the previous roller blades-equipped Challenger that debut in SEMA couple of years ago that NuFormz built. There will also be a second Dodge car – the Dodge Viper competing in this season of FD.
One of my favorite challengers at the event is this SRT-8 Challenger with a 426 stroker engine rolling on a set of CCW SP550 wheels (20×9 front – 20×11 rear).
It was great to finally meet Armen (ag512bbi) who told me that he is picking up his red Challenger with the same 426 stroker this week. Congrats man!
The 2009 Dodge Challenger 1320 made an appearance. This ride began life as a Mopar Drag Pak and was remodified to keep it civil for the streets.
Steve Salleen and the SMS crew was there with their 570X Challenger
Although the event were intended for LX/LC platform cars only, a few really awesome Jeep showed up. Here’s one that woke up the whole neighborhood. This think sounded so mean!
I had a great time hanging out with the SoCal Challengers crew. The event was dominated by Charges, 300c and Magnum but I was told that there were actually 108 Challengers that showed up. Purty cool.
Rest of the pics thanks to my SoCal Challenger car crew David aka Sarlacc
.
Here’s a video from last year’s event which was held in the same location.
It was an honor to meet one of the guys who actually designed the Challenger. Also wanted to say thanks to everyone who stopped by and said hey like the guys from the NorCal Challenger crew. Great to meet all of you. Props to my SoCal Challenger brothers and sisters. Big thanks to Fatchance, JonW, TMagnum, Spring Fest volunteers and the rest of the SoCalLX crew, Dodge/Chrsyler for the great event with free food! It’s great to see a manufacturer sponsoring a big event like this.
Now if we can get BMW to do the same with Bimmerfest or MFest, that would be a dream!

Damn all these cars look so buff. Who owns the one with the whack flame job ?

The Challenger you show with the caption about the CCW sp 550 rims is incorrect. Sorry but those are 505a rims. I mean if you are referring to the black SRT with the TA style hood, those rims appear to be 505a’s.
