STI back in the ‘ring for 2010
Subaru Technica International (STI) have announced that they will be again participating in the 24-hour of Nurburgring happening from May 12th to the 16th.

Under the supervision of STI President, Takeshi Tachimori, the team will be entering a custom-tuned 2010 Subaru Impreza WRX STI.

The new ride received a lot of improvements which include a significant decrease in weight and lower center gravity, an increase in drivability, more responsive handling, an increase in engine power and an optimized gear ratio.

In charge of bringing the team together is STI’s head of vehicle testing, Hideharu Tatsumi. The team will feature an international line-up with Japanese drivers Kazuo Shimizu, who has extensive experience racing at the Nürburgring, and Toshihiro Yoshida, making his 4th attempt at the event, as well as Dutchman Carlo van Dam, who helped to demonstrate the speed of the Impreza GT300 in SUPER GT in 2008, with a local German driver (TBA) rounding out the quartet.
