Team Schnitzer BMW GT2 M3
The LMS race series had their test days in the Paul Ricard HTTT over the weekend. The LMS racecars from different teams were present running in their respective classes from LMP1, LMP2, GT1, and the GT2.
With the Team Rahal/Letterman (RLR) BMW M3 GT continuing their campaign in the GT2 class of the ALMS series, Team Schnitzer will be handle the GT2 class in the LMS series. Team Schnitzer, not be confused with AC Schnitzer (tuner), is fully back by BMW.
Below was how the car looked pretty much all last year when they ran in the VLN series.

This shot was taken at the Dunlop Test day done last month.

During the Paul Ricard test day over the weekend, Team Schnitzer unveiled for the first time their car with a new livery.

It’s still white but unlike the RLR BMW M3 GT, no “JOY” livery here.

Instead a prominent “///M” – the BMW Motorsport symbol is plastered on the doors in addition to the M colors all around the car.

Yay for this as I was bummed when the RLR took it off from their car when they replaced it with the “JOY” livery.

And just like their ALMS counterpart, the #78 LMS GT2 BMW is also sponsored by Crowne Plaza.

The results of their test day was a little slow posting a time of 2:02.813, 3rd slowest time overall. I got high hopes for this team though.

I doubt that Team Schnitzer will run all the races in the LMS series but be on the look out for them also in the VLN series and the 24 -hour of Le Mans.
