Freaks of the Industry
My weekends have been pretty fun lately. Today, I got a chance to hang out with two of my long time buddies- RJ de Vera and Jay aka JDMEGO.
These days, RJ spends more time in the air, going to meetings to discuss meetings while trying his best to keep up with time zones. And Jay, is locked up in his pad designing JDMEGO stuff and illustrating 40″x40″ poster in between cleaning up after his dog Louie. These guys are super busy and with my similar schedule, we hardly get to see each other in person. Kinda funny though how after many years of not seeing Jay, I got to hang out with this foolio twice in one week.
Anyways, we met up for lunch in South Coast plaza with our significant other present. The steak at Lawry’s Carvery was satisfying. But even better, it was great catching up, reminiscing about the old import days, sharing insights on the whole car industry in general and the unmentionable freaks of the industry.
Afterward, we headed back to the parking structure. We checked out RJ’s new ride “Biggie“. It’s the BMW 7 series which replaced that infamous Mercedes Benz CLS.

I’ve seen it when it was bone stock but that didn’t last long. RJ being RJ, can’t drive stock so Vorsteiner hooked it up with some goodies including those bad ass V-102 Satin black wheels.

If any of you guys wants to see this car in person, it will be shown at Bimmerfest next month. Pictures (especially mine) doesn’t do it justice.
Much respect goes out to these guys. The impact and influence they have on the scene is deep. Both stand up guys and truly an honor to have known them all these years.
Hope everyone is having a fun weekend. Now where’s my Digital Underground CD…
