What the FAKE?!

29 April 2010 7 Comments

In light of yesterday’s post I thought this might seem appropriate.

Is imitation truly the sincerest form of flattery? Maybe. Some though would argue that what it really is is that imitation is the sincerest form of plagiarism.

I’ve seen it many times in the automotive industry, fake, knock-off, imitation, wannabe, poser (whatever you want to call it) parts passing off as the real deal when its clearly a cheap, low quality fake parts. I saw a wheel I thought was a BBS LM but the center cap said BB5! What the fake?!

It’s even worst in the Fashion industry especially with them fake “CHANNEL” bags with crooked logos etc.. I’ve once saw a lady outside of the Louis Vuitton boutique carrying a LV bag but with a word “FAKE” written across it. Not really sure what to think of it but I guess it’s cool as nothing worst than trying to fake the funk right?

Well adults aren’t the only ones being targeted by this mother fakers. Some toy maker from China are selling these SUPERHERO toy knock-offs.

Check out this craziness LOL.

Is that SPIDER MAN?! No no, that my friend is SPADER MAN.

Ahh, Star Wa… STAR KNIGHT!? hmm

Forget about ROBOCOP, here’s ROBERT COP

Holy confucius, it’s SILVER BAT!?

Just in case the title “Transformers” is too confusing, check out the new and improve CHANGE ROBOT!

And ah, of course, I should know who this is coz this is the book I’m currently working on for DC Comics. “Faster than a speeding bullet, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, the man of steel himself, but better than Superman, it’s SPECIAL MAN!!”

These got me rolling on the floor. Credit goes to my buddies at auto-technica for showing me a link to this.

a buddy of mine was actually rocking BB5 LM reps because his actual LM’s had some sort of dispute at the border from the states, and they definitely look the part to the untrained eye. here’s a pic of them i took a couple years ago

These toys, on the other hand… not so faithful in their reproductions :) Lol there’s something intriguing about Vader riding around on a police motorbike..
