ALMS Round 5 Results
I’m kinda bummed that I’m missing out on Comic Con this year as I’m finishing up the last issue of Superman: Secret Origins. So to keep me working in my drawing table, I set up my DVR and watched Round 5 of the ALMS.

The American Le Mans Series (ALMS) went down in Lime Rock Park yesterday with a very wet track during qualifying and my team (BMW) didn’t fare to well. But on race day, They moved on up even running 1st and 2nd for a while. But this round belongs to Porsche with a double victory both in the LMP class and the GT class

Here are the results:
Porsche RS Spyder claimed their first overall win in the race series.

But their win didn’t come easily as there was this controversial “blocking” move they did against the Patron Highcroft team in the last minutes of the race.
In the GT Class, #45 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR from the Flying Lizard Motorsport took the top spot in the pole and backed it up with the 1st place podium win on race day.

This marks their 5th win in a row in Lime Rock. Joerg Bergmeister was quoted saying “The BMWs were faster than us on the straights, but the straights are very short and we had the better grip. Thanks to our extra pit stop in the earlier caution phase we had a little more fuel at the end. This stop didn’t cost us any positions. The way Patrick fought off Bill Auberlen in the last lap – that was brilliant.”
2nd place in the GT Class went to #92 BMW M3 GT of BMW Rahal/Letterman Racing Team finishing 1.5 seconds behind the Porsche.

3rd place went to the other BMW M3 GT- #90 BMW M3 GT driven by Muller and Hand.

Joey Hand actually even set the fastest GT lap record of the race at 55.943 seconds.
This is was supposed to be BMW’s home track and winning 2nd and 3rd wasn’t so bad considering that they started towards the back of the pack .
