Cars and Coffee 07-03-10

7 July 2010 5 Comments

I got an email from my buddy RJ de Vera saying that he’ll be hitting up Cars and Coffee on Saturday. And with my schedule relatively light, I was able to wake up early enough to pay another visit to this heaven for car guys. I brought my camera but didn’t really get to take any pics as I kept on bumping into old friends so photo credit to Leo, Chuck and Max of www.cncpics.com for the pics in this post. If you want to see more pics from past event, this is the site to check out.

I’ve been to CnC many times before with my BMW E36 and the Challenger but this was the first time I went there with the new Wraptivo flat black look for the Challenger. I met up with my buddy Brett with the flat white Wraptivo TechArt Cayenne around 6:45AM. By the time we got there, it was packed.

We found a parking space out back and just decided to park by the curve so we can park together.

Shortly after, RJ, fresh from his trip, arrived rolling in his Vorsteiner-equipped BMW 7 series.

Got to meet Jeff from 3M which was really cool. We walked around to check out some rides and here are some of my personal highlights.

Ford brought out their “Start” Concept car which was unveiled in Beijing Auto Show.

I’ve seen Tesla running around town but never one up close so I was surprised to see this white one there.

Absolutely one of the most aggressive Lotus I’ve seen there from all times I’ve been at the show.

Great to see couple of Porsche 911 GT3 RS there too.

Barry Meguiar, the man behind MEGUIAR’s empire even made an appearance.

Row of P-cars from 6spdonline I believe.

Couple of R35 GTRs

Got to see another Mosler at the show. The first one I saw was couple of weeks ago, same color but different wheels. (LINK)

Next to the Mosler was this badass Corvette looking all mean in flat black and super wide hips.

But the car that owned the show was Peter’s Ferrari 458 Italia from the Auto-Technica crew.

This was a shot of the crowd couple of minutes after Peter and Albert, riding shotgun, arrived at the lot.

This was the first Ferrari 458 Italia that showed up at CnC and possibly one of the first one delivered here in sunny California.

More pics of Peter’s new toy. Congrats again man. It was great to meet finally meet you.

Props also goes to Rod who brought his F430 shown here parked behinds Peter’s 458.

Some more pics of the guys as they roll out.

I normally don’t name my cars but thanks to RJ naming his 7 series Biggie and Brett naming his Cayman Heidi, I finally figured out a name for my Challenger. This came about how we’re talking about the texture and feel of the 3M film was almost like that of a whale skin and with the car being big, I thought Big Willy suits it just fine LOL.

I took off around 9AM as I still have an appointment in Huntington Beach at 10. But it was a fun time as usual. Thanks to RJ and Brett for the invite, sorry couldn’t do breakfast with you guys but maybe next time. Tony, Phil, Rod, Peter, Albert and the rest of the A-T crew, always good seeing yall. Also just wanted to say hey to my long time buddy James. Great to see you again after all this time!

    Great coverage as always Jon

What did you think of the 458 in person? It was interesting to read Albert’s initial thoughts on the car

“Big Willy” is looking hard in it’s new outfit!

    haha, Big Willy says thanks.

I saw my first 458 couple of weeks ago during the Barrett-Jackson show. I was impressed and thought it looked better in person. The shape of the fenders and quarter panels are my favorite.

Come to think of it, I think it might be Peter’s before he took delivery of it as it had the same wheels and lic plates as Peter’s. Here’s a pic of it at the show.
