Sneaky peak
Our new daily driver – MK5 Jetta, is still stock but all the parts are starting to come together. The whole idea is to create a very clean ride but with some one-of-a-kind mods, at the same time, considering that I can put it back together when the time comes to return the car.
One of the first thing I thought of upgrading is the Halogen headlight that came stock with this car. So I got me a pair of used HID GTI headlights and started messing around with it. I’ve been working on it off and on when I get a chance, but I’ve been so occupied with other things that I never got around to finishing it.
Well here is a teaser picture of what it looks like currently.
For those that do not know what they’re looking at and can’t tell exactly what I have done so far, here are the the mods:
1. I’ve open this headlight housing and painted the chrome and silver parts satin black.
2. The low beam surround housing was also drilled to hold 6 LEDs.
3. The high beam is now converted to a “Gatling gun-style” lighting.
4. Orange relflectors were removed from the turn signal housing.
5. The lower portion of the headlight for the turn signal will also now hold a set of high powered LED lights as seen on the latest Audi models.
There’s still some more things I gotta do and I’ll post another set of pictures when it’s ready.
Stay tuned!
PS. I can’t answer any of the questions right now regarding the mods I have done so far as it’s still not finished but will gladly provide more info when it’s all done.

So we got a 2008 VW Jetta as our Daily Driver.
The car is great but I can’t stand the handling. My wife and I call it the “floater”.
I’m slowly collecting parts for it and familiarizing myself in the VAG world. I got some interesting ideas for this project already and it’s one of those “one-of” type of mods. Stay Tuned- it’s gonna be a fun one.
Here are pictures of how it looks like currently. Let’s go 4×4ing.
