The 2010 season of American Le Mans series will be upon us in 25 days and counting. March 20th will be the date to save. But before then, engines are roaring already in Sebring International Raceway in Florida for the scheduled test days for the series. For this post, I’ll highlight the teams that I’ll have my eyes on and couple of teams that caught my eye.

Going on now is the Asian Le Mans Series in Okayama, Japan. This is the last major race of the year and with the awesome finale of ALMS, I’m excited to see how this race turns out. Check out the cars that are participating in this series including two team from USA.

Round 8 of the VLN Endurance racing series held in Nordschlefie is in the books. This is only the second time the BMW Motorsport team competed this year driven by Dirk Muller and Andy Priauix. The final round of the ALMS went down yesterday at the Laguna Seca raceway aka Mazda Raceway in Monteray, CA. At 2.2 miles, this is one of my favorite tracks to race in (in Gran Turismo LOL) with its drastic elevation changes and that famous corkscrew at turn 8.
The class that I got my eye on is the GT2 class.

The German VLS series which stands for Veranstaltergeminschaft Langstrekenpokal Nurbürgring is an endurance race which happens in the famous Nordschlefie circuit. This series always brings out the best race cars and their recent race didn’t disappoint.
Over the weekend, the BMW E92 M3 GT2 prepared by Schnitzer Motorsport made it’s debut race. Although it shares some similiarities in its appearance with the ALMS GT2 M3 from Team Rahal/Letterman, this racecar is a whole different beast under a different set of restrictions and regulations.

Round 8 of the American Le Mans Series held in Mosport racetrack in Ontario went down with the Corvette showing their muscle finishing 1st and 3rd with the Italianos being sandwiched in 2nd place.
The BMW team #90 and 92 qualified 1st and 2nd in their class but this was not their day. They dropped off the pace due to unfortunate circumstances. After making a valiant effort for 6 races in this years ALMS, Team Rahal Letterman’s BMW M3 finally took the #1 and #2 spot in the GT2 class held in Road America .
